Achondrites are meteorites that are made up of rocky material that has been differentiated on its parent body. In order for differentiation to take place, the parent body had to have been large.

Eucrite from the asteroid Vesta

This meteorite is from a class of meteorites called HED meteorites. All meteorites in this class originated from the same parent body. Most scientists agree that this parent body is most likely the large main belt asteroid Vesta.

This example is an igneous monomict breccia meaning that it is made of of one rock type that has been cataclastically broken apart and brought back together by impacts on its parent body.

Lunar Meteorite (Moon Rock)

A few years after the Apollo program ended, scientists discovered that there were actually moon rocks already here on Earth! Occasionally, when a really big asteroid hits the moon, rocks can sometimes be thrown from the moon and eventually fall to Earth as lunar meteorites. This lunar meteorite was found in Algeria in 2017. It is a likely pairing of the  lunar feldspathic regolith breccia NWA 11273.
